In simple terms, subrogation rights or rights to be reimbursed. Let me give you an example. In a car accident case, where someone’s injured and they go to the hospital and their health insurance pays for the hospital visit, their health insurance may want to seek reimbursement for the amount of medical bills that they paid at the hospital on behalf of the injured party, if the injured party makes a claim against the negligent party. That’s called subrogation or reimbursement.
